Mass Shooting Leaves Four Dead, 18 Injured In Birmingham

University Campus Shooting Leaves One Dead, Many Injured In Georgia

A mass shooting in Birmingham, Alabama, on Saturday night, left four people dead and about 18 others injured.

Birmingham Police Department said on X that officers responded to reports of a major shooting with possibly multiple casualties.

The shooting occurred in the Five Points South area of the city, according to ABC13 Houston.

It was gathered that no fewer than four people lost their lives and dozens were injured in the shooting.

At least four of the injured have life-threatening injuries, ABC13 reported.

As of 6 a.m. on Sunday, officials say 18 others were also hurt during the shooting.

Their injuries range from non-life-threatening to life-threatening.

ABC13 also said the shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday night in the busy Five Points South area.

Three of the four victims died on the scene. The fourth victim died at the hospital.

As of now, Monday Sep. 23, no arrests have been made, and investigator believe there were multiple shooters who fired upon a large group of people who were outside in a public area in the 2000 Block of Magnolia Avenue South.

The Birmingham Police Department has requested FBI and ATF assistance with the investigation.

Authorities are also seeking information from witnesses as they work to determine who were the intended targets of the shooting.

“There is no greater resource than the public.

“We will do everything we possibly can to make sure we uncover, identify and hunt down whoever is responsible for preying on our people this morning,” Birmingham Police Officer Truman Fitzgerald said.
