Delta Police Arrest Youth Leader, Criminal Gang Members

THE Delta State Police Command has arrested a youth leader and four suspected criminals in separate operations, recovering multiple firearms and ammunition.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, the first arrest took place on 15th March 2025, when operatives from Ekpan Police Division apprehended Victor Edavwe, the youth president of Ekpan community.
Reports indicated that he had recently acquired an AK-47 rifle.

Following interrogation, officers raided the residence of an associate, known as Efe ‘A.K.A Eteyomo’, where they discovered an AK-47 rifle, a single-barrel gun, three cutlasses, two daggers, and 44 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition concealed in the roof.
In a separate operation on 16th March, officers acted on intelligence regarding criminal activities in the Jeddo area and arrested four men suspected of involvement in armed robbery and kidnapping.

The suspects—Endurance Oghoghome, 38; Blessing Oghoghome, 46; Marvellous Dissy, 43; and Jonas Orogho, 38—were found in possession of an English pump-action gun, two locally made single-barrel guns, a fabricated Beretta pistol, a cut-to-size gun, and a live cartridge.
Commending the officers for their commitment, Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, stated, “The people of Jeddo community have expressed their appreciation, saying they now feel safer following these arrests.”
The police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing as they work to rid the state of criminal elements.
