Delta police arrests three gun manufacturers, suppliers

OPERATIVES of Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspects who manufacture and supply guns to armed robbers.

Acting upon an intensive intelligence-led investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Delta State Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, on Tuesday, July 16, the team led by ASP Julius Robinson, arrested the three male suspects identified as Tega Dierunaba, 44, of Ororokpe Community in Okpe LGA, Delta State; Chibuike Anuforo Cosmas, 42, of Orlu Town, Imo State, and Sunday Moses Pam, 36, of Von Community in Jos South LGA, Plateau State.

The state’s police public relations officer, SP. Edafe Bright, confirmed in a press release that all suspects have admitted to the crime as confessed by a suspect, Goodluck Sakutu, 38, who was taken into custody earlier. A fabricated AK-47 rifle was recovered from him.

The Commissioner of Police, while encouraging residents to trust the policing process, noted that crimes can be fought at any stage, either before, during or even after.

He also urged residents to provide useful, credible and timely information to the authorities on suspicious happenings in their area, assuring them of justice, and that their identities will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
