THE Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of two suspects linked to the kidnapping of Mrs Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu.
Acting on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Dr Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, operatives apprehended Agbojule Smart, 27, and Keleke Michael, 30, while attempting to flee Lagos State in the early hours of Friday, January 24, 2025.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime.
“They admitted to being part of a four-member gang, two of whom had been neutralised in earlier operations,” the statement revealed.
Recovered from the suspects were N2.25 million, believed to be part of the ransom, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.
The Inspector-General praised the officers for their swift and courageous action. “The operatives have once again demonstrated exceptional commitment to ensuring justice is served.
“I encourage them to continue exhibiting professionalism in the fight against crime,” Dr Egbetokun remarked.
The press release further highlighted the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to protecting citizens and maintaining peace.
