First-Year Giwa Poly Student Macheted To Death

A first-year student of Mass Communication, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, identified as Oluwaseun Adeleye, has been macheted to death by unknown assailants.
The tragic incident occurred at the Opomulero area of Owo, less than a month after the student secured admission to the institution.
A source said Adeleye, who was also a musician and the course representative of his class, was found dead on Monday.

The source added that he was macheted to death by unknown assailants, with the motive behind the killing still unclear.
“He was a fresher who had spent just three or four weeks on campus.
“In fact, he was a course representative. It is sad that we lost him. Unfortunately, he was macheted,” the source lamented.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Samuel Ojo, described the situation as “unfortunate.”
Also, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmi Odunlami, told journalists that the case had been reported to the police, and an investigation was underway.
“Yes, it’s a case of suspected murder of one Seun Ojo Adeleye, an ND 1 student of Mass Communication. The police have begun an investigation into the incident,” Odunlami said.
