Anambra Police Custody Escape: CRG Demands Urgent Action

THE Crime Reporters Global (CRG) has condemned the escape of two suspects involved in the kidnapping and murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, describing the incident as “a film trick” and “a hoax.”

The group has called on the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun PhD, to launch an immediate investigation and bring compromised officers to justice.

In a statement signed by National Chairman Tita Onyebuchi, Nze, and Secretary General Comr. Barth Ikiebe, CRG expressed “abysmal shock and dismay” over the escape, which occurred when police operatives took the suspects on an operation.

“This incident appears to be a poorly scripted skit,” the group said. “The Inspector General must act swiftly in the national interest to unravel the circumstances and prevent a recurrence.”

CRG also demanded the immediate re-arrest of the suspects, insisting they must “face the full weight of the law.”

“The media and the public are watching,” the statement concluded.
