A horrific crime has unfolded in Florida, where a 16-year-old girl, Miranda Corsette, was allegedly kidnapped, murdered, and dismembered by a couple she met through social media.
Steven Gress, 35, and his partner, Michelle Brandes, 37, have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with Corsette’s killing.
According to authorities, Corsette met Gress on a social media app on February 14, and after initially returning home, she went back to his residence the next day.
She remained with Gress and Brandes until her murder, which police believe occurred between February 20 and 24.
Corsette was reported missing on February 24, and a witness came forward on March 6 with information about a possible kidnapping and homicide.
The investigation, CrimesChroniclers learnt, revealed that after Corsette’s murder, Gress allegedly dismembered her body and disposed of it in a dumpster in Hillsborough County. Police have located the dumpster and are working to recover the remains.
Gress was already in jail on unrelated charges, including pointing a harpoon at Brandes and drug possession.
The case is ongoing, and additional charges are expected.
