THE Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operating Base (FOB) Escravos has deactivated three illegal refining sites in Obodo Omadinho, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, as part of ongoing efforts to combat crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.

The operation, conducted on 10 March 2025 under Operation Delta Sanity II, was based on credible intelligence.

The raided sites contained an estimated 3,700 litres of stolen crude oil and 1,900 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), stored in three ovens, seven dugout pits, and 31 polythene sacks.

This latest success highlights the Navy’s resolve to enforce the Strategic Directives of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla (Admiralty Medal), in eliminating illegal activities within Nigeria’s maritime domain.

The Nigerian Navy reiterated its commitment to securing the nation’s oil infrastructure, strengthening maritime security, and supporting government efforts to boost daily crude oil production.
