Brooklyn Nightclub Mass Shooting Leaves 3 Dead, 10 Injured

BROOKLYN, New York — Three people were killed and 10 others wounded in a mass shooting involving multiple gunmen at a Brooklyn nightclub early Sunday morning.

The New York Police Department identified the victims as Marvin St. Louis, 19, of Brooklyn; Amadou Diallo, 27, of Upper Manhattan; and Jamel Childs, 35, of Brooklyn.

According to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, the shooting erupted inside the Taste of the City Lounge on Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights at about 3:27 a.m., following what investigators believe was a dispute in the crowded club.

“We believe there were up to four shooters involved,” Tisch told reporters at a press conference, confirming that no arrests have been made. Police recovered 42 shell casings from 9 mm and .45-caliber weapons, along with one firearm found near the scene.

Ten victims were treated at area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. Police initially reported nine injuries, but later confirmed a tenth after a gunshot victim who had been struck in the ankle sought treatment independently.

Mayor Eric Adams, who visited the site on Sunday afternoon, condemned the violence and warned of potential retaliatory attacks. “Gun violence of this magnitude scars a community and a city,” Adams said, adding that crisis management teams have been deployed to the neighborhood. He renewed his call for stronger efforts to curb the flow of firearms into New York City.

In a statement on Instagram, Taste of the City Lounge said it was “devastated” by the shooting and expressed condolences to the victims’ families. “The safety and well-being of our guests and community has always been our top priority,” the lounge said, pledging full cooperation with law enforcement.

Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward as the investigation continues.
