IN a sweeping crackdown on crime, the Delta State Police Command has announced a series of major successes, resulting in multiple arrests and the recovery of illicit drugs and firearms in operations across the state capital.

The coordinated strikes, which took place between October 1st and 3rd, 2025, involved intelligence-led deployments from the ‘B’ Division Asaba, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), and the Eagle Net Special Squad (ENSS).
The first breakthrough occurred on October 1st, when police responded to a distress call about an armed robbery on the BONSAAC axis of Asaba.

A female victim had been robbed of her phone and other valuables at gunpoint by two men.
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the DPO of ‘B’ Division, CSP Edewor Akponegware, led a team that, with local vigilantes, cordoned off the area and arrested one suspect, 21-year-old Amara Nwako.
A locally made pistol was recovered at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect is a member of the “Arobaga” secret cult. A manhunt is ongoing for his accomplice who fled.
In a separate operation on October 2nd, the Eagle Net Special Squad, in collaboration with the state government, intercepted a truck (Reg. No. 3BGT 18LG) driven by 52-year-old Dennis Uruma from Kogi State.
A search of the vehicle revealed a large consignment of suspected illicit drugs.
The driver was arrested, and authorities are currently counting and measuring the seized exhibits.
The third success came on October 3rd, when operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, acting on credible intelligence, raided a criminal hideout near the Basket Market area.
