The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly engaging in threesome with two minors in agbarho.
The suspect identified as Oghene-Ogaga Emmanuel, allegedly had sex with the two girls aged 12 and 13 at his residence.
The suspect, who himself is a father to a 19-year-old daughter, was apprehended in the Agbarho area following a report made to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.
In a video statement provided to Stonix News on Saturday, SP Edafe confirmed the arrest and expressed dismay at the ongoing exploitation of children.
“It’s unfortunate that these things keep happening,” SP Edafe stated. “We have made efforts to sensitise people, to see that we can rescue children that are going through this torture, sexual harassment, and sexual molestation from adults like this man.”
He detailed the grim nature of the report, saying, “We got a report around Agbarho that a certain man was defiling two young underage girls, one 13 and the other one 12 years old.”
The police spokesman voiced his disgust, adding, “It’s very sad because when you look at this man here, and you look at the victim, you would wonder what this man finds attractive on the body of this little girl.”
In a disturbing confession, the suspect admitted to the crime. “I slept with a 12-year-old and 13-year-old girl at the same time,” Emmanuel said.
He attempted to justify his actions, claiming, “When I first saw the 12-year-old, I didn’t know how old she was but I was sure she was not up to 18.
“Her friend, the 13-year-old was the one that introduced her to me. I have been sleeping with one of them before now. They came to my house one day and I had sex threesome with them.”
However, he later expressed a remorse regarding his own daughter, stating, “I will feel very bad if my age mate sleeps with my 19-year-old daughter.”
SP Edafe confirmed that the suspect will face the full weight of the law.
“The suspect is here and he will definitely be charged for the offence of defilement,” he said.
Concluding with a direct appeal, the police officer begged, “Paedophiles around, please leave our children alone. Leave these young girls alone. We are begging you in God’s name.”
