Rita Enemuru, Reporting
THOUSANDS of aspiring police constables in Delta State are being called to action as the physical and credential screening for the massive Nigeria Police Force recruitment exercise is set to begin next week.
The Delta State Police Command has officially announced that the exercise will hold at the Cenotaph in Asaba, running from Monday, 9th March, to Friday, 18th April, 2026.
This recruitment drive, aimed at enlisting 50,000 constables into the Force, is being jointly conducted by the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force.
In a press statement released on Thursday, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, urged shortlisted candidates to adhere strictly to the date and time indicated on their individual Invitation Slips.
He stressed that no candidate would be entertained outside their scheduled slot.
Applicants have been directed to visit the official portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to confirm their status and print all necessary documents before reporting to the venue.
Strict Dress Code and Document Requirements
To ensure a seamless process, the command has outlined a strict dress code and a comprehensive list of documents that must be presented.
Candidates must appear in a white T-shirt, white shorts, white canvas shoes, and white stockings.
They are also required to come with their Invitation Slip (showing their assigned screening table), completed screening forms, and proof of physical and mental fitness from a government-recognised hospital. Other vital documents include the NIN printout or card, O’ Level certificates, Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age, and a Local Government/State of Origin certificate duly signed by the Local Government Chairman or Secretary.
Specialist applicants must provide their trade test certificates. All candidates must present a duly completed Guarantors’ Form.
To avoid last-minute mix-ups, the command instructed applicants to arrange original and duplicate copies of their credentials neatly in two separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached.
A Free and Fair Exercise
The Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Aina Adesola, has given the strongest assurance that the screening will be conducted transparently and on merit. He issued a stern warning to applicants to be wary of fraudsters.
“The Commissioner of Police reiterates that the recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge and will be conducted with transparency and merit,” SP Edafe stated. “Applicants are strongly advised to disregard fraudsters or anyone demanding financial inducement, as such persons will be arrested and prosecuted.”
The command has encouraged all eligible applicants to turn out with confidence, promising a smooth and credible exercise. For any complaints or to report suspicious activity, candidates can contact the command via 09155570008 or 09155570007.
