Operation in Egbokodo Community

In the first incident, operatives from ‘A’ Division in Warri responded to a distress call in the early hours of 9 March 2026. The call, received at approximately 5am, reported an attempted armed robbery at a private residence in the Egbokodo Itsekiri community.

Officers mobilised swiftly to the scene and, with the assistance of local residents, cordoned off the area. During the operation, one suspect, identified as Emmanuel Solomon, a 38-year-old male, was apprehended within the premises.

A thorough search of the surrounding area led to the recovery of a bag containing two double-barrelled cut-to-size guns and five live cartridges. Investigations are ongoing.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, commended the operatives for their professionalism, swift response, and commitment to duty.

He urged members of the public to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information, reiterating the Command’s resolve to rid the state of criminal elements.
