Three Suspects Arrested Over Farm Guard’s Beheading

Student Gunned Down In Suspected Cult Clash Tragedy
POLICE officers from Ovwian Division have arrested three suspects in connection with the gruesome killing and beheading of a poultry farm guard in Udu Local Government Area, Delta State.
Fishermen on a routine trip discovered the severed head of the victim in the Erhiephihor community river.
The deceased, identified as Omadide Uruemu Peter, was reportedly murdered and his headless body dumped in Erhiephihor by unknown attackers.
Sources allege that the father of one, in his 30s, was killed for praying too loudly at midnight.
Before relocating to Ovwodokpokpor, his neighbours in Otu-Jeremi had reportedly complained about his late-night prayers.
Conflicting reports suggest he lived in Erhiephihor before his murder.
However, Erhiephihor’s Secretary-General, Mr Daniel Omohovwighren, clarified that the attack occurred in Ovwodokpokpor, and the body was later dumped in Erhiephihor.
Following the killing, both communities alerted the police and local vigilantes, leading to the arrest of three suspects—one from Ovwodokpokpor, an Ijaw man, and a Yoruba man.

The suspects were first detained at Ovwian Police Station before being transferred to Asaba with the involvement of the President Generals of both communities.
Contrary to initial claims, the victim’s head was recovered from the Ovwodokpokpor River, not Erhiephihor River.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, has confirmed the incident.
